(2024) I am told by the supplier that this is declassified Tempranillo from Rioja Alta, and so appears under the Vino de Mesa rather than Rioja appellation. It is also a non-vintage wine. There's a little softness to the colour on the rim, and a pleasant nose of cherry and ripe recurrant, with a little vanilla in the mix. In the mouth the oak quality adds a coffee chariness, but there is fruit and decent balance. The acidity does its job to freshen the low tannin finish. The same wine also appears under the 'Casa e Bastido' label.
