(2023) The rosé in this multi-coloured Malbec range is joined by 15% Syrah, coming from the same Mendoza vineyards. It is pale peach in colour, with fruity, up-front aromas of summer berries and fresh lemons, a little floral nuance too. In the mouth it's an approachable, charming style, the merest hint of being off-dry, with a plump sweetness to the fruit, though the palate tensions nicely as well-judged acidity leaves it easy-drinking but fresh.
(2013) 13.0%, Screwcap. Grown at 700m altitude in Mendoza, there's 10% Shiraz in the blend here. It is quite deep in colour and aroma, more black fruited with a touch of something a tiny bit gamy and earthy. On the palate a more red wine-like experience, with lots of fruit intensity, a hint of tannin and a long finish softened by just a touch of residual sugar to cream the finish.
(2011) Made for Tesco by Catena, this 13.5% ABV rosé has a zingy colour and fresh, vibrant nose, the zingy berry fruit tinged with a green streak, some floral notes and plenty of character. The palate is equally bold, full-flavoured and attractively robust, with a bit of tannin and grip giving this foodie appeal: even match with lighter curries and meat dishes.
(2011) >From Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza, a blend of 60% Malbec with 40% Merlot that has an attractive, quite deep peachy-pink colour. The nose is quite vinous and serious, not giving terribly much, but with a savoury, earthy character. On the palate a sweet fruit profile emerges, with a touch of strawberry and hint of peach, with the acidity cutting in a touch abruptly perhaps, though that does add to its savoury, food-friendly grip.
