Bourbon heads up

Any views if it is worth picking up some Weller (either 12 year or 107) - noting the clear price creep due to the Pappy effect wondering if it worth stumping up now before it gets even higher?

At retail price? Yes, grab everything you can. At auction price? It's been circa £100 for a few years now and hasn't shown much movement either way so probably not a real rush to stock up.

Supposed to be Poor Mans Pappy a mix of 12 and Antique 107. I got a £59 Antique 107 in the TWE ballot which I guess is the RRP. I have paid £79 for it in the past but assume it would be north of £100 if anyone is retailing it.

I have never known spirits demand like there is now. Some stuff appears and you have about a 5 minute window before it has gone out of stock. It's certainly the case with alot of Buffalo Trace products like Weller, Blantons and Stagg.

Used to be around £40 for the 107 or the 12, which was sensible. It's a nice drink, but it's not a £100+ drink for me. Bourbon boom is in full effect, and we've got a tariff hitting prices here too. Things like EH Taylor you can't get in America (where it's circa £30), you can easily get here... but it's £100! It feels to me like the Scotch rush has calmed down slightly, the in demand stuff still staying strong but in lockdown pretty much everything limited was selling out straight away and at prices that seemed crazy.
