A Bruichladdich from 1969 and a Cotswolds Distillery Whisky.

The Bruichladdich was a cask strength miniature distilled in 1969 and bottled in 1999. After a half hour in the glass it showed subtle smoke and all the complexity you’d expect from a whisky of this age. Beautiful.

in contrast the Cotswold distillery whisky was their first release distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2017 so only three years old - the youngest such a spirit can be to legally called whisky. No great complexity but absolutely superb barley, so creamy and cereal driven.

I really enjoyed them both. Miniatures of the former from 1963 and 1966 still to go.
