Caronne St Gemme, sold to Bernard Magrez!

I have just read elsewhere on the web that one of my long term favourite wines has been sold. And worse still to a purveyor of oak soup. I have been enjoying this wine for over 30 years and this strikes me as really bad news. Apparently it could even be incorporated into La Tour Carnet.

Though a couple of the most redoubtable and illustrious forumites have given La Tour Carnet the big thumbs up recently - no less than the Peak Parker 2000 vintage. And the Magret stable maybe toning things down a tad lately now that Parker is merely an amorphous blob in the rear view mirror.
