Crozes-Hermitage wines

On my recent flight back from Sydney, SIA served a delicious young Syrah in ‘16 Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers. This got me interested in Crozes-Hermitage wines. Any recommendations for this Appellation?

No great experience here but Graillot for reds and had some lovely whites from Aléofane, Gaylord Machon and Entrefaux( their Les Pends can be superb) recently.

Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers

I buy this regularly EP from The Wine Society here in the UK along with Les Meysonniers from Chapoutier. They should last a good 10 years or so as well in my limited experience (tend to drink them within 10 years anyway).

Have also bought Graillot as well and that is good. Another I have bought recently is the Silene from J.L. Chave, another good value wine.

Graillot for sure; the La Guiraude bottling (cask selection in the cellar) is well worth seeking out as well as the straight Crozes.
Rousset Les Picaudieres
Murinais Les Amandiers & Caprice de Valentin
Domaine les Bruyeres esp. La Croix
Domaine Belle
Domaine Comber Clos des Grives

By coincidence i opened a 2015 Meysonniers, picked up v cheaply in a supermarket offer. Hmm. If anyone has any, I’d wait. It’s got plenty of matter but I wouldn’t really call it fun just now!

I’m a big fan of graillot but the prices have crept up. Like Mark I’ve tended to switch to st Joseph now for better wines at better value. However I did get a sorrel CH 2012 from tws about 6 months ago which was pretty impressive, not seen it before or since though.

Did you buy any to put away, and how long would you cellar it? I took a flyer on the 2007, also bought rather cheaply.
