Dujac 2016 @ TWS

I received the email on the evening of 31 March. I ordered two bottles of MSD immediately and they arrived on Saturday. Good service. commiserations to those who didn't receive the email.

Just looking back, I received emails for Dujac 2017 on 11/03/2020 and 2016's on 26/09/2019.
I don't think I clicked/noticed either of these back then, maybe why I wasn't selected this time.
Need to find out how to get back in favour with the TWS Algorithm gods. What to sacrifice?

I had 2 in the basket after the original email, which i did receive (unusually for such offers, though I recently have upped my purchases) - left them there for a couple of days whilst discussing option, then they'd gone on returning yesterday... lesson learnt!

I only remembered to post a few days after finding it, so agreed, WP probably cleared them out as a consequence of my post.

Coming soon: paid access to Julian's obsessive searches.

Would have thought a man of your calibre Julian would have a back door into TWS database and inventory systems with a bot to notify you of anything interesting arriving.;)

Yeah I've played around with their algolia search (i.e the search in the top bar) as that data can be accessed from anywhere if it you have a tiny amount of know how.

Has anyone tried the 2009 MSD? I have a six-pack in storage and was considering calling it in, but the CellarTracker reviews are pretty negative - most mention stewed fruit. The price has gone through the roof so I was wondering whether to just cash in.

Those notes all seem to be from the same zoom tasting so could easily be the same bottle/same source.

Older notes are much more complimentary, so I wouldn't jump the gun on that basis. I do find you have to read between the lines a bit with some CT reviews - a bit like avoiding 1 star reviews and 5 star reviews on Amazon to get the real data!

Ah yes, I hadn't noticed that - and bizarrely, I didn't notice that there were more notes (despite thinking it odd that were so few for what is normally a very popular wine). I blame long-Covid brain fog.

Early drinking window and really needs some air to open up. Medium body and starting to brick at the rim. Some dark cherry and raspberry fruit, a little fine tannin gives it a bit of texture, decent acid, especially for a warmer year which doesn’t really make itself felt. There’s a decent savoury finish to cap a good wine off. It’s not going to fall over any time soon, but I’m less sure that it’s got too much more upside. If you’ve got a few definitely time to start drinking them.
