NWR EV thread (was "Anyone buying a Tesla Model 3 (or any BEV) ?")

The second Bordeaux supercharger opened at the weekend. In an big supermarket car park. Luckily a decent supermarket as I think we will use it for much of our shopping now.

The first is in a Novotel car park near the airport.

It's funny how so many SuCs in France are in hotels compared to in the UK where it's slightly unusual. I think that was a problem during lockdown. Get to visit some interesting places as a result, though! Hope they redevelop that hotel in Geneva soon. That's a Godforsaken spot!
Not sure I'd ever have discovered Dart's Farm if it weren't for the SuC there.

Great report, Alex, thanks. We went to Italy in February in a Yaris hybrid - a greyhound-driven choice - and by early next year hope to be doing the journey in an ev. I did spend the trip driving much more slowly than usual, which doesn't add huge amounts of time to the journey, is definitely less tiring and adds vastly to range in an ICE and in an ev too by all accounts. 100kph instead of 130 is probably a necessity in climate terms anyway.

Tesla to allow 3rd parties to use their chargers

As widely expected a few months ago, Tesla confirms they are allowing other EV owners to use some of their chargers in the UK.
And the natives don't like it! Will be interesting to see how the pilot goes. Various concerns over the potential bad behaviour of the riff-raff. Big win for the likes of Jaguar, Audi and Porsche. Just a shame most EV manufacturers simply can't make enough to keep up with demand.

I'm waiting for mye Enyaq. 6 months now, and probably still 9 months to go. But it was factored in on ordering. Will probably cover 70% of all domestic driving, while keeping my 2018 Merc for the rest and for longer trips abroad and

Tesla Model Y was released in Australia on Friday morning. Internet blew up. No LR, just SR and P. They will all be MICs. Charging stations will become even more crowded in the very near future. Earliest delivery will be August.
