Yes. The dot has gone. I worried for a second and then realised that a much more intuitive 'new' icon is there now and when you click it, it takes you to the first new unread post. Far too sensible. Bring back the dot
In all seriousness, while unfashionable, high contrast is great for people with weaker eyesight. An update to JR's site was practically illegible for me on certain screens with its grey on grey text (it was adjusted pretty quickly). And apart from needing reading glasses my eyesight is pretty goodNow that I think of it perhaps the change is necessary for the aging members of the forum with dimming eyesight as everything looks larger and brighter.
It's all in jest ........................................... Mahmoud.
When I log in there is a little box I am invited to tick if I wish to stay logged in. However it only stays on screen for a micro second and before I can move the cursor it's gone !
Tom - I am using Win10, on a desk top, browser Chrome. I hope this helps. Incidentally it occurred again this morning when I logged on !Ian that's an odd one, which isn't happening for me. Can i check what device you are using and what browser?
Will see if I can recreate that IanTom - I am using Win10, on a desk top, browser Chrome. I hope this helps. Incidentally it occurred again this morning when I logged on !
Not that I'm too upset by it, but I seem to have only momentarily had the ability to do anything other than 'like' a post. Is this deliberate?
Is the holding down bit that was foxing me. Thanks TomHave logged in on my iPad and it seems to be OK for me - hold down on the ‘Like’ and the pop up stays there until you choose something or release - went up this thread giving 4 or 5 reactions to various posts and all seems OK. I don’t have a Mac or iPhone to do any more testing unfortunaely

It works for me on my phone (Samsung S9+ using Samsung Internet) but not on my PC (Windows 10 Microsoft Edge).Jeremey - not sure what you mean? If you hover over the word "like" then a choice of emojis should appear and stay there until you move off of the word?
Mmmmm - menu isn't 'sticky' for me on any of my devices - desktop (Windows, tried with three different browsers), phone (Android) or iPad. I think I'd need to gather more info and user experiences on this one to understand it GarethThanks for all the hard work Tom it’s great!
just one query on a desktop or laptop the menu stays at the top even when you scroll (fab!) but it doesn’t on iOS. Is this a bug? Or is it possible for it to be like the other versions?
Please report the bug Peter. Don't know about time, but let's park that one for now while we squash bugsDid he finish yesterday? I found a bug just now.
Also, can I change the time display from AM/PM to proper 24 hours time?
Just to reiterate something that Tom mentioned in another thread, please do a hard refresh (CTRL+F5) if you think you've found a bug. In most cases that will cure it.

The XenForo forum software is very advanced and it's quite unlikely that substantial bugs are in the public release that was installed this week. The only area where we may expect to see bugs would be related to the customisation of the theme itself to integrate with the rest of the Wine Pages website. The probability of this crossing paths with actual forum functionality is quite low indeed as no functions are modified as part of the integration process. It is cosmetic only.
As an example, I was not able to see the multiple reactions available on hovering over the like button - a hard refresh resolved that for me.
Tom - thank you. Tried logging out and in again - same result. As to allowing cookies, will certainly do that, but where are they please ?Ian I have downloaded Chrome onto my Windows 10 machine and cannot recreate this. When I click "login" it pops up this window:
View attachment 17103
And I just type name and password, the tick box for "Stay logged in" always visible.
If you know your password or have asked your browser to remember it, then worth logging out and trying again. Also, please make sure you are allowing cookies on wine-pages. If you have disabled cookies then functions like remembering your login are impossible.
Actually, I've just discovered using the Reply button automatically quotes the message you ar ereplying to. The +Quote button must be for quoting multiple posts in your response so not worth using for quoting a single postThere's been a couple of times when I have selected a post to quote (using +Quote) and tried to insert it (using "Insert Quotes), the system seems to hang, in that the bar continues scrolling across the top of my screen and the bars at the side continue scrolling, but the quoted post isn't inserted.
