NWR Le Grappin, Mark Haisma, Jane Eyre Tasting

Anyone going?

With the usual short notice that tastings organisers seem to give, I just got the email saying it's at Vinoteca City this time (Bloomberg Arcade near Cannon St/Mansion House). Tues 14 Jan, 10-8.

**Not sure how to amend the title but this tasting also includes the wines of Mark Haisma and Jane Eyre.

I missed last year because I already had a tasting booked for that day so I'm especially pleased I can go to this one. It's one of those events where I look forward to seeing quite a few forumites. I know we always used to do a lunch as so many of us go, but I'm not sure I can make lunch. I do nevertheless hope to see many of you there.

They are doing a magnum raffle in aid of Australia's RFS, cash only on the day.

No connections.

Apologies if I have the wrong end of the stick but the Haisma tasting appears to be happening at the same time and venue. Is this just a coincidence?

Apolgies Will, for making assumptions that everyone is aware that Le Grappin, Mark Haisma and Jane Eyre all show their wines together at this annual event. I once christened them the Ozgundians, and as with most of their compatriots in wine, they work in friendly harmony and are very happy to promote their wines together. I shall endeavour to amend the title, or failing that make a note in the text..

As usual, unable to attend, regretfully. As tickets for the charity draw can only be purchased on the day, anyone willing to buy me a couple please? I'll transfer monies direct to you, beforehand.

David, there's a thread tool tab, upper right, which allows title to be edited.

Ah I see!
Thanks for letting me know. I might well be able to attend as I have a meeting in the area although not sure when it will finish.

I'll get you a couple, Mark (I hope I do remember to grab some cash so feel free to message me on Tuesday as a reminder)

Never been - have wanted to very much in the past - but the dates never ever worked.

These days though I find trips to London especially midweek a bit too much hassle/stressful.

Mind you my tastes have also moved a little away from Marks style in the past few years.

Ive got Stone Vine on Monday in Winchy and Averys in Brizzle on Thursday to keep me busy. ;)

Went last year and it was very good, but I got there early before the main crowd. It was very crowded by the time I left, so get there early if you want to try any specific wine and spend any time chatting to the makers. Can’t make it this year unfortunately.

Booked in for supper afterwards which means I can get some reasonable work time in first. Having tried a few at the Paulee I am sure will be excellent. I did order at the time so this is just a bit of fun. Bancroft the next day then Jordan dinner at High Timber. Will need a lie down afterwards.
