New! The Christmas Quiz!

No point in taking it again as I've seen the answers now and it would be very embarassing when I don't score top marks

I could only display the answers when people get the question right, and simply mark others as 'wrong' with no explanation, but I guess half the people would want to know the correct answer without having to do the quiz over (and over) again :)

A couple of 19s on the leaderboard now which, given I stuffed up the mechanism for the sorting questions, is an honorary 20 :)

19; the usual tricky Cannavan mix of some straight laced questions and some frankly mind boggling anagram type ones (which took ages to decipher!). Great fun as always. Need a drink now though! ;)

Yes, the anagrams is a newly hatched product of a cruel and semi-demented mind (mine) bit I thought it would give people more of a challenge and ensure the quizzes took up a good 20 minutes of everyone's time :)

And it did with my re-try. On the last one I managed to get the NZ wine region before I had solved all the clues. I also had to revisit some of my answers to ensure they fitted in with the solution. Even then I got it wrong as two of them were the wrong way round. A more respectable 18 second time around, but I won't claim it seeing as I had already seen most of the answers from my first attempt.

A shameful 11. That last anagram I had only two letters switched around, though I should have remembered my own states regions!
But UK drink sizes - give me a break!
I always feel massively confident of minimum16 when I submit and then am shattered when I don't top 12. None of my guesses came good either in this instance.

Yes, no one outside of the UK would have known the glass size. In NZ 150 mls is norm; not by regulation but just by common usage. My brain couldn't cope with the anagrams.

Agreed, though it is a UK wine forum. I got both UK questions wrong and made one silly mistake. Otherwise, for once, the straightforward questions aligned with what i knew so I breezed through them. The anagrams took time but were a lot of fun in its own way. The 8 letter anagram was made easier by the fact that with a couple of the easier answers I guessed the region and that helped immensely as I had all the initial letters. The result is the highest I think I've ever scored: 17.
