TN Old Sherry

NV Pale Sherry - M. Hidalgo: Sanlucar de Barrameda

As a dinner aperitif, I chose this bottle. I believe it was bottled in the 1960's. The driven cork came out almost in one piece. A gorgeous caramel amber colour in my glass. The nose is pure old wooden furniture and beeswax, intermingled with a dried fruit component. The mouthfeel is soft, but after a couple of seconds a dried citrus tangy feeling explodes on my tongue. It carries this off for several seconds before gently fading away, performing its role admirably. Lovely.
