Post-Brexit wine delivery from EU

I think Decantalo is one of the organisations that's worked it out (I suspect UK sales is a large part of their business). However, tax/duty demands can arrive later! Would make a good scam, actually.
How have they managed to do this and keep their UK prices relatively low whilst so many other EU merchants are still unable to ship to UK?

Probably because they are a huge operation so the scale keeps costs down. As others have said the UK market was a big one for them so they were quick to put in place a way to continue to do that. It’s smaller shops and online merchants who probably won’t bother due to the startup costs involved in doing so.

Tannico do the same thing and have been (too) easy to order from this year
it looks like Vinissimus do toobut I haven’t tied ordering from there of late

Their prices seemed to increase quite significantly post-Brexit and I had assumed it was to include UK duty and VAT which they would pay  to HMRC on our behalf.

I must have been looking at the wrong wines but many were on a par with UK retailers now, without the risk of them lying in a baking hot warehouse in France, for several days, on the way up from Spain. Or being sent back UK C&E, which was one of the concerns early on.

Yes, both Decantalo’s and Vinissimus’s prices increased significantly when Brexit happened and they’re now pretty similar to UK merchants’. That said, when I ordered from them it was usually to obtain wines that weren’t available from UK merchants, and only rarely because of the price advantage. As far as I recall, I’ve only once ordered from Decantalo post-Brexit and they covered the UK duty and VAT.

Mr Lambert has been nothing but vociferous, I’m glad he has learnt to adapt. Just wish he had realised this sooner.……surprised it took him this long, but perhaps I am not.
What an odd thing to say.
Daniel has changed the format and structure of his business, which is why it has taken time for him to complete his permanent move to France.

This is a change of life completely David. I suppose one initially persists with change and tries to adapt. If after a while you're running against the tide and the adaptation isn't working you consider more life changing options like leaving the country and running your business from abroad. Such decisions are not made over night. I would say a couple of years isn't a relatively long period of time in the context of things.
