Rarest Wine in the World Goes to Auction

Cuvée LNVdL'E MMXIX 1 50cl bt - Price Estimate: £50 - £500000

Bacchus Wine Auctions is offering bidders the chance to own a single 50cl bottle of the 2019 rosé from the world’s lowest production and most exclusive vineyard. The winery has never before made a commercial release. With yields typically as low as 2l/hectare, each grape is individually selected and the entire winemaking process is carried out entirely by hand, including pressing the grapes. This meticulous attention to detail is augmented by the fermentation being entirely down to wild yeasts and maturation takes place in recycled glass bottles. The winery moved in 2014 and following some terrible industrial sabotage by a certain Australian winemaker now plying his trade in Burgundy which killed off the Pinot Noir vines, we are hopeful of a museum release being made of the red at a later date. All proceeds of this sale are to go to charity, reflecting the sustainable outlook of this incredible low-yield producer. Cuvée LNVdL'E MMXIX is a truly unique experience.

Reported as a fake! ;)

Snatched from my grip whilst I was busy elsewhere!

Chris, I thought this was very well done, so please nominate a charity and I will make a donation to match the winning bid. Double if Tom makes a tasting note, triple if he does a video tasting...

Chris, I was surprised that it finished so quickly too (I was delighted to receive the winning message on the stroke of noon) but if that was a mistake or just because there is an appetite to bid, feel free to revive and extend it - the bidding had not reached my maximum, so I would still be in with a shout. As it is all for charity, I would live with the consequences if you want to extend it and I end up losing out! :)

Well the tasting note will be worth it :) Oliver has already offered to match the bid and I’m sure a few others will if charity is listed up.
