Sierra Nevada Nooner Pilsner (5.2%)

This must be the bargain of the year. In the M&S offer it is 92p per can. Imported by Fullers. I was disappointed that the first batch they had were best before July 2016, but the new ones are best before the end of April 2017 (I wonder what happened?). Hops used are Saphir, Tettnanger and Strisselspalt as finishing hops, with German Perle as a bittering hop. Sounds like a lot of hops! It's certainly a bitter beer, but there is also a nice use of malts. These are:Two-row Pale, Pilsner, Munich and Acidulated. Anyway, while it is bitter it is still nicely drinkable...The hops taste fresh and green, but it is by Sierra Nevada, so it's good quality (and they know how to use their malt). The contrast between this and Anchor's California Lager (one of my favourite beers) couldn't be greater and is a nice illustration of how radically different lagered beers can be...
