Not sure if this qualifies for this thread, but a couple of years ago I was bought this decanter which, on its own, is pretty chunky. But the basket in the foreground takes ice/water and fits underneath the decanter so your decanted white wine does not warm. Have rarely decanted whites in the past but now getting more frequent, usually a rewarding step, as with today's Polish Hill.

The cute little delivery robots one sees on the cycleways as one traverses Milton Keynes. They even deliver hot food. One can see a dozen waiting in line at the local co-op food store waiting for supplies. Aw.

We have those in Northampton too - not seen so many recently but it’s not uncommon to see one at a pedestrian crossing asking passers by to press the button.

My garden has some odd things in flower. A daffodil came out two weeks ago, and some penstemon, catmint marigolds and geranium haven’t stopped yet.

I gave my 8 year old grandson an old-fashioned transfer set for Christmas, and he has just sat down to do it. He is utterly absorbed and has been concentrating on this for over 30 mins! Not a hint of electronics.

Although this one has proved to be too challenging. All the remaining pieces are all white and all the same shape.

On a gloriously sunny day here, several silly little things are delighting me:
- ordering flower and vegetable seeds and imagining the garden to come
- dividends - however small they might be in some cases, they always seem like a nice surprise
- builders completing things after several weeks of fretting on my part, so many niggling concerns have evaporated

On a rainy day in Brixton today, sitting inside a steamy Ramen bar.... felt almost Blade-Runner-esque. Lost deep inside a little crevice of this massive city!
I've been told that I'm not allowed to buy jigsaw puzzles anymore. However, I've already decided that the jigsaw for next Christmas will be a u-boat submerging into a grey sea, with grey skies and some mist present. I have time to track one down.

The very idea of such a jigsaw existing and of a grandparent buying one to torture their grandchildren with, in itself, is a silly little thing that delights me! I know, I'm a terrible person.
That jigsaw will be for torturing adults actually, as were the others. I did put the occasional piece in too, just to increase the annoyance factor for the rest of the family.
A German-Finnish colleague has made me aware of a German song entitled and with a chorus line of "Alles hat ein Ende nur die Wurst hat zwei" (everything has an end, but a sausage has two)
