Thanks for the tip-off, Paul. Although tempted I had been disciplined and not bought a stack of Piper NV during the current Sainsburys promotion, but the combination of an even better price and a money-off voucher will likely see me crack on Friday at the local TEE ;)
I tried one of the Chapouter CdRV during the last 25% off and won't be buying more as for me the high alcohol - 15% - stuck out.
For a good value mid-week quaffer I enjoyed the Ringbolt Cabernet which is a Margaret River effort of surprising quality at it's rock-bottom price point (£10 on the shelf so a silly £7.50 during the 25% off). A completely different proposition to the CdRV granted, but more refined and balanced I thought.

Took due notice of Dr. P. Ended up buying 6 x PH Red, as nothing else appealed.
Of course, true to form Sainsbury's failed to meet the order. Anyone wondering I was so foolishly/naively optimistic is asking a valid question.
I re-ordered via T.E.E then came to my senses & cancelled. I ain't gonna buy from supermarkets no more.

Edit. Having take note of SP & avoided the P-Jouët, Mrs C has arrived with a mixed six of Taittinger NV & rosé, £21 & £26.25. Equal to the lowest price we have ever paid.

Couldn't resist Tatty at £22.50. Looks like a 11 Mar 21 labelling date (so disgorged in Feb/Mar I assume). Anyone know what base vintage they are likely to be?

Also bought some Rosé, that seems to have been labelled/disgorged in Jul 20.

Costco watch... bought some 2015 Tenuta Cucco Serralunga D’alba Barolo £16.78 all in which seems about 50% of the winesearcher price (also some Meerlust Rubicon 2017 for £20.38)
Think the Meerlust price is national, not sure about the barolo
I've been picking up the odd bottle of each of those when I've been in CostCo up here. I've still to open the Rubicon but the Barolo was lovely and drinking nicely already.

I've seen Cristal 2013 in Costco (price is the £160s IIRC). Kind of regret now not buying a single bottle of 2012 right now. Oh well, wait for 2014 now I guess?

Regarding Cristal 2013, I believe Lecaillon has described it as the best example of “Cristal” he has made so far... Italian journalist Lupetti has also put it in the same bracket as 2008 and 2012, making it in his word a triplette by Lecaillon

Peter Crawford, the man who reportedly (by Daily Mail) own 4k champagne, commented on IG that he slightly prefer 2013 as it's a cooler vintage.
Based on previous experience on multiple 2012/2013 based NV, as well as limited 2012/2013 vintages, I might have the same preference.

Cooler may not be the right word to describe 2013. Late flowering, longer hang time and later harvest lowered the pH back below trend, but there is enough ripeness.

It is a terroir vintage par exellence and crunchy acidity aside very difficult to generalise on.
