Wine shops in/near Beaune

Mmm, thanks. Might try Oenovinia in Dijon as well. Anyone been there?

CPH looks good. It's been many years since I was there in Calais - That used to be be Perardel, right? I remember picking up Egly Ouriet before it became ludicrously expensive. Any recommendations of up-coming Champagne producers they stock?

Yup, formerly Peradel.

I'm sure I bought some Henri Goutorbe Champagne in the CPH (possibly still Perardel at the time) in Beaune many years ago. Hardly an 'up and coming' producer though but very good value.

CPH is a worthwhile destination. If you let me know your e-mail address I'll send you their list, I received this month. There will be wines unlisted.
Athenaeum in the town square is competitive. Mon Millésime on the outside of the ring road well worth a visit. It's located in Rue du Faubourg Madeleine along with Le Comptoir des Tontons. The latter keeps restaurant hours. All have on-line wine lists, the latter two are relatively accurate. If passing by pop into Leclerc, it has a cave occasional surprises/bargains. Jadot is nearby, easy parking & accessible shop!

Outside Beaune. NSG - Cavon de Bacchus, top stuff always sold out; the caveau/wine bar in Puligny just off the square; Rateau in centre of Chassagne; the caveau in St. Aubin - Séverine is a delight. There are others but I only drop in for specific wines.

Beaune centre is pricey and anything worthwhile will likely have been snapped up immediately by visitors eager to spend money. Doubt you will find much of interest there.
Where would you go? As we're passing right through the area, there must be a few options. I was interested in Oenovinia as they do Thevenet.

Anywhere between Eurotunnel terminal and Montelimar, really!

Return via Champagne, visit a producer and buy direct (stocking up at Lilbert as mentioned by Jasper would be hard to beat).

Before that, forget wine shopping in Beaune just a have a meal and nice bottle or two that you wouldn’t usually buy at Soufflot.

If ultimate destination is in France I've had joy buying from Grand Bourgognes (Antoine's tip some time ago) and having delivered to your Gite etc.

They had a sale going but you might have just missed it.

Already booked in for dinner at Le Maufoux. We'll see about Champagne. Will depend on uxorial disposition!

Ah the same!

Which would you be tempted by from the below, I wonder? Of course many options on the main list: Selosse Cote Faron is virtually a meal in itself, but very well priced. And good choices at all price ranges, of course.

Chablis 1er cru Les Butteaux Raveneau 2015 75
Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru Les Caillerets Paul Pillot 2017 110
Montrachet Grand cru Comtes Lafon 2017 1100
Vosne Romanée Aux Reignots Arnoux-Lachaux 2018 850
