Adnams Old

  1. Cask 4.1%

I got this in my village pub. I used to drink gallons of it many years ago but I have not come across it for a long time.

Darkish and sweetish with caramel and lighter chocolate and dark fruit. Drier in the finish but not a bitter beer.

I cannot remember if this is as good as it once was, perhaps it is a bit sweeter now, but I really liked it. Who needs craft IPA when you have nostalgia?

Rob Lockwood and Thom Blach like this.
  2. You speak my language. Sounds wonderful.

  3. ...full stop. "Craft" indeed :). Next: craft literature.

  4. I had some Old on 29 December. Like alan, I thought it used to taste different. Its my ageing taste buds. The pub also has a special Xmas ale from Adnams in a cradle. 7.3% the barman said, but it was too late to try it - next year maybe.
