Competitive Offers from Retailers

For any L&W Cellar Circle members there are some good bottles with a bit of age in the linked offer from the email that just went out. Picked up some Sadie Pofadder 2013 (£30p/b IB), Skerpioen 2014 (£39 p/b IB) and LRA 904 2005 (£35 p/b IB)

My email cannot decide if it likes L&W or not. Some stuff comes through to inbox with no problems, others like this end up in junk with no rhyme or reason why.

I would have had some of the LRA but showing as £75 per bottle now so will give it a miss.

Those are the most outrageous bargains. I shall be seriously disappointed if they’re delisting the Matusalem and Apostoles - they were no-brainers in the periodic 25% off deals, when they netted down to about £14 per half-bottle, which was a small fraction of the price for which they could be had anywhere else, including the Spanish internet merchants such as Decantolo and Vinissimus.

Interesting email offer from Dudley-Jones - inc 2015 Carema White Label £25 IB, 2020 Loggerenberg Trust your Gut Chenin £16.23 on the table among others. Worth checking your spam folder for :)

No connection except as a customer etc.

EDITED TO SAY - feel free to pm me your email address if you'd like it forwarded.

Thanks for drawing my attention to the Dudley-Jones sale. Unfortunately the Trust Your Gut had sold out but I managed to console myself with a couple of beautiful Beaujolais at frankly ludicrous prices....

  • 2017 Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun) Morgon Javernières Morgon Côte du Py - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon (02/08/2023)
Vibrant nose of raspberries and some earthy oregano. The palate is chewy and tannic, even on day two, with exotic flashes of cinnamon and spiced plums. Bags of potential here and might need 2-3 years to really hit its stride. Another superb Beaujolais from 2017 and certainly one for the cellar. A ludicrous amount of Morgon for well under twenty quid. (91 pts.)
  • 2016 Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun) Moulin-à-Vent Les Thorins - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent (01/08/2023)
This has a lovely opening of cherry cola and pastrami followed by svelte tannins on the finish. Certainly on the sleeker end of the Beaujolais spectrum and perhaps without the stuffing for the long haul, but either way this is a very accomplished and severely delicious wine for now and over the next three years. (90 pts.)

No connections etc.

L&W have 2021 Hamilton Russell PN in stock (not from clients) for £25 ib which seems a very good price.

For the record I bought one Money’s tight to mention and all that!
