Fancy a job?

Due to our continued expansion, Bacchus Wine Auctions Limited is now looking to recruit in two areas. Logistics manager and wine specialist.

The Logistics role is by necessity one that has variable hours, but on average over the year would be 20 hours per week. Those hours are flexible and there would be very little requirement to travel to the office apart from on auction day. Experience with duty systems, especially vision, would be an advantage. With our warehousing currently just south west of London, the ideal candidate would be within easy travelling distance of the area. As a company we are known for our exemplary customer service and capability in this area is a must. The day to day role is dealing with deliveries in, co-ordinating deliveries out with our logistics partner EHD, organising collections, stock control and management and cataloguing. Accounting experience will also be required. Full training will be given on how to use the online bidding tools and telephone bidding on auction day.

The wine specialist role is essentially helping with the day to day business of being the best wine auction business out there. Valuations and assessment of wines held both in private cellars and in professional storage. Managing customer relationships, driving new business in terms of both vendors and buyers and helping Bacchus to maintain the growth we have seen since 2016. The role will involve some fairly heavy physical work moving wines, opening cases for inspection and assisting with photography. A lot of time may need to be spent in cellars with low ceilings and rickety stairs! There will also be a good deal of desk work using spreadsheets and confirming market prices and preparing paperwork for clients. Relevant experience will of course be an advantage, however it is expected that the right candidate will need to learn on the job. Some travel may be necessary, but as with all of our employees, both flexible working and working from home are encouraged. This role will however require significant time to be spent at our warehouse facilities inspecting wines and preparing them for sale and of course attendance on auction days. Full training will be given in auctioneering technique.

If you might be interested in either of these roles, or if you feel you may know someone who would be suitable, please contact me directly chris@bacchuswineauctions.com for further details, please do not do so via the forum messaging system.

Both roles will be advertised elsewhere, however as the forum has been such a big part of the Bacchus experience, we thought it might be an idea to post it here first. enquiries to be received no later than 3rd Feb please.
