La Trappe Quadrupel and Westmalle Tripel

What fantastic beers! I had both tonight. The former is grossly underappreciated, by those who would compare it to Rochefort 10, St Bernardus ABT 12 etc. Of course it is a completely different beer from these dark ales. To me it's a strong pale ale...Both this and the Westmalle beer are great examples of Belgian brewing, super strong, yet with a lightness, a cleanness (from all the sugar?) that might be absent from a similar strength barley wine (though why not call them barley wines?) or stout. And, dare I say that the La Trappe beer is superior to Rochefort 10 and the St Bernardus beer?
