Batch 14 (June 2021). Now an annual release and at 58.6%
This is so much better than the still decent 10yo at 40%. Big oily texture, classic Laphroaig nose of seaweed, tarry rope, chilli, fire embers. Massive and mouth filling, almost overwhelming peat and fireplace flavour even with a teaspoon of water to mellow the alcohol and bring out the aromatics. Raisiny sweetness, tar. Endless finish with lots of pepper and chilli. In a word, magnificent.
