Hi, I have a bottle of Marc de Champagne Tres Vieux but I do not actually know what it is or how much is worth. I would appreciate an opinion. Thank you I suspect it is Bourgogne but I don't know for sure.
Marc is a "brandy" made from wine-making leftovers, marc de Champagne being marc from that region, I believe. I don't think it's ever worth a lot of money, I have a magnum of this (Lanson label) which I have been drinking over the past 5 years or so. To me it tastes unbelievably rough and stalky (not surprising as that is what it is), the only use I have found is in a shot glass to accompany a strong cigar like Bolivar or Partagas....others may think differently!
I have finally open it and it is a sort of clear brandy/vodka/moonshine/tuica, it has many names. Anyway, the taste is horrible.
