Food Meater 2+

2-3 days ago the new Meater 2+ has been released. It’s thinner, you can use it for higher temperatures (500 C ) and has more sensors etc.

Have a look, I found on YouTube an English version after I read several praising German reviews by true BBQ experts.

 
Good to see - I have the original and I've been quite disappointed: it punches a huge hole in a cut of meat, the signal is very patchy, and I don't fully trust the reliability of the temperature readout. I've happily reverted to my simple cheap wired probes which have never let me down. This looks like it resolves most of the issues with the original.
 
I have a Meater which I was given and I found the measurement / accuracy quite good, but the problem is its size - as Josh says it makes a whacking great hole in your joint. It’s fine for something vast like a three bird roast (which we did use it for one Christmas) but for any ‘normal’ size piece of meat it’s a problem.
