It helps that Pure Project in Miramar revamped their outside seating. Gone is the dirt and mulch, to be replaced by an outside concrete floor with a brand new patio and contemporary looking fencing.
Thus, we recently sat outside to enjoy our brews - we usually sit inside and chinwag with the bar staff all night long, so this was a rare antisocial moment!
1) Blue Eyes White Dragon (7.8%) was a wine barrel-aged sour, refermented with Blueberries and Dragonfruit. Only two kegs were produced, so it was definitely on the rare side.
The tart sourness hit you right off the bat, but it soon disappeared as the flavours of Blueberries and Dragonfruit came in to compliment the sour notes. I rarely buy bottled sours, but I'll always try Pure's versions on tap. This one was a little ripper.
2) Noc-Turtle Hazy IPA (7.0%).
Committed to helping the planet, Pure Project collaborated with WILDCOAST to produce this IPA, with all sales of on-tap Noc-Turtle, plus take-home cans being donated to WILDCOAST's efforts to protect critically endangered Eastern Pacific leatherback sea turtles in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Brewed with a series of fruity hops - El Dorado, Citra Cryo and Australian Nelson Abstrax - this came with a super smooth body with tropical flavours of Peaches, Pineapple, Apricot, with a touch of Orange Zest. Perfect for watching the sunset outside!
And yes, we bought a four-pack of Noc-Turtle to take home!
