Redchurch Paradise Pale Ale

  1. Bottle 330ml 3.7%

My local Waitrose has been selling this for a while. I have never bothered with it as it is expensive for a beer of this strength and did not look anything special.

I bought one out of curiosity. It is actually pretty good. It pours cloudy. It appears to be bottle-conditioned although it does not say this on the bottle. The aroma and flavour have citric fruitiness with grapefruit and lemon. The finish is dry with lemon predominant. It is light in body. It is somewhat like an ale version of a German Helles and is a refreshing beer for Summer.

I googled the brewery and they do more interesting beers than this, including experimental beers with wild yeast.

  2. Very good brewery, in my opinion. Interesting to see them doing well with a relatively low abv pale ale.
