Samuel Smith Yorkshire Stingo (8.0%).

Barrel-Aged in Oak Ale Casks. 550ml bottle.

All sorts of information and a couple of photographs on the back of the bottle. Here's the main description: "Yorkshire Stingo tastes of dark fruit, toffee, and Christmas Pudding with a subtle oaky finish. This bottle-conditioned ale is matured in oak ale casks, some over a century old, and continuously maintained by the Old Brewery's own coopers.

These casks, constantly circulating through the brewery's own English pubs, soak in the character of Samuel Smith's traditional stone fermented ales"

That said, I picked up mild flavours of plums, brown sugar and raisins, with (again) mild notes of oak and treacle in the finish. Nothing was overdone and the whole thing was very well balanced. I will say the body was a little thinner than I expected, but that's not to take away from a very enjoyable brew.
