NWR Silly little things that delight you

My home to work bike commute involves going down Constitution Hill from the Wellington Arch, round the front of Buckingham Palace and down Birdcage Walk. If I am coming in an bit later, there are often large crowds behind the barriers, waiting for the marching band activity. I pretend to myself that it's the last km of a tour de France stage as I zoom by them all, looking excited. Allez!
 
If anyone else is wondering... "Research by the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) found that the animals can be up in the air for up to 0.3 seconds at a time when moving fast". Only a sub-editor could refer to 0.3s while running as being airborne for a substantial period of time. But I must admit it is a compelling image.
Ah, but if they run for five miles, then cumulatively they will have been in the air for a long time, depending of course upon the length of a single stride and the speed at which they run...
