Supermarket promotions Q1 2022

Piper-Heidsieck £18.75
Vasse Felix Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (& the Shiraz) £7.50
Catena DV Cabernet Franc (& the Malbec & the Chardy) £7.50
Vergelegen Cabernet Merlot £6

All priced after all discounts - all good vfm imho

Not really a promotion, more an observation… i was quite surprised how quickly the Caymus Cab 2019 sold out in Costco at £66 a bottle.

Something i was sure was going to end up heavily discounted later in the year for me to snaffle, but not to be as it sold out in a week or so.

I didn’t think this wine did that well outside the states?
How much is the Ravaut Ladoix? Had a wonderful visit there a few years back, good wine that

Yes these are wines that are already discounted and then have the further 25% off applied.

The Kanonkop Kadette is list price £11 so very well priced at £8.25 in the promotion. Likewise the Bellingham Bernard Series Chenin also previously recommended around these parts….

My fortnightly online shop today so nice to see this come up on my shop this morning so a 6 pack of Tim Adams Riesling duly ordered.

@Tom Cannavan reccoed the Catena Chardonnay a year ago. Its a decent mid week quaffer but will need a bit of time of latest vintage. Fancy trying the Cabernet Franc, anybody done so? Will get some of the Vasse Felix Shiraz for when a Aussie cycling pal of mine comes over.

I've had all of the Catena. The Cab Franc was the pick, for me.

Unlikely to be of any use to anyone here but I was amazed to find a bottle of Musar 1998 (with good levels) on offer at a local supermarket in Hong Kong. It was being sold alongside the 2015 red and 2017 rose. No idea of storage etc but not often you find a 24 year old wine at a supermarket anywhere.

25% off 3 from Morrisons' "the Best" range. There may be one or two nuggets in there but I've no particular knowledge. Amex and some bank accounts will give you a rebate of 5-10% (may require opt-in). Also 10% discount at till on all spend for Blue Light card holders. I believe this isn't always running - best to check.

25% off 3+ from a selection in Booths until 15 March (and a further 5% off 6+).

(edit - promotion runs to 15 March)

Not sure whether we're including Costco in this thread or the competitive offers from retailers so prepared for slap on the wrist if I'm wrong... ;)

Costco have (and on the rear label are listed as the importers) the 2006 Haut Bergey at £19.79 - have greatly enjoyed the 2005 (which is now north of £40 per bottle) so bought a couple of these at Lakeside on Saturday. I enjoyed the first bottle very much over two nights and went back to Croydon for more last night. There are about 50 or so bottles left there as of now.

If any of you want to check your local stores before travelling it's SKU# 131194 - comes in 1 x 6 carton and if you want a full box which will likely be high up in a rack, I think they like to know in advance... (Didn't know this and had to persuade them to find some aircraft steps to reach the pallet in question).

Considering the sunk storage on this, you'll struggle to find mature Graves at a much better price than this... profitez-en

Not Supermarket rather Majestic
The Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay which I enjoyed so much last year, and was I think confirmed by our leader as a decent drop is £4 off down to £10.99
It is now over to 20 vintage, but most charts report that as better even than the ones I rounded up from Waitrose which I think were 18

Morrisons "The Best" Wild Ferment Pinot Noir is pretty agreeable for the 25% off price of £7.50. Made by Errazuriz.
