When served in a proper boozer and well conditioned is a guilty pleasure I have no problem admitting to...
This explains why the most enjoyable TT I've had was in Dewsbury (dark mild by the way - I love a good mild).I'm really no expert at all but I've never found any beer to travel very well too far from its base.
I gave up beer as a student in London because the ones I knew weren't in condition and the London beers were just so different to my taste/experience at that time.
At that time most London pubs served out of condition beer. Things are better now(I'm talking pre lockdown) but the prices difficult to swallow, perfectly reasonable for a single pint but they ought to sell a five pint carnet for a single session at half price, there would still be margin.I gave up beer as a student in London because the ones I knew weren't in condition and the London beers were just so different to my taste/experience at that time.

Glad to hear you say that, I thought it was just me being lily-livered !Not sure of others constitutions but is definitely not a session beer for me. Despite several unwise attempts.
I must try it. I see they sell it at the pub in the next village - which I've been meaning to go to anyway....
Any recommendations of pubs in London which keep it well?
Preference rather than right or wrong but a Yorkshire version would be much creamier head.Acceptable, not brilliant, one in the British Queen in the settlement my mum used to refer to as Chastity Beltville (Locksbottom, Kent)
