I'm 4 episodes in to Fubar on Netflix which is worth a watch if you enjoyed Arnie's 90's film True Lies. CIA comedy action series starring the big man doing what he does best

....and Citadel on Amazon is a bit of a jaunt similar to the Mission Impossible franchise. Jumps around the timelines a bit but isn't too hard to follow
Nothing against Arnie at all but the first episode was so truly awful that, sat at home alone with absolutely nothing to do, I switched it off and dug out an old crossword book then tidied up various things in the house that I'd ignored for a year or two. As a final straw, I cleaned the bbq and went to bed at 9.30pm, safe in the knowledge that everything I'd done was more enjoyable than watching any more.

Caught an episode of Extrapolations on Apple TV. Gosh this is truly awful. Eco-preachy nonsense. Why would anyone watch this? The casting is unbelievably bad. This is worthy television at its worst.

Wild Isles episode 3 (BBC): great night footage of foxes harrying a warren; extraordinary, spooky life cycle of Large Blue butterfly; male Hen Harrier mating display rather human combining dancing with demonstrating he can be a good provider.

Watching these kind of tv programmes reminds me that there are smart, good people in the world - some of the coverage on the various Attenborough series in the last 20 years have been astonishing

Drops of God starts on Apple TV+ today, an English/French/Japanese language drama set in the world of gastronomy and fine wines where "a woman discovers the world's greatest wine collection that's left by her estranged father and competes against a Japanese man to claim her inheritance.". According to one review, "I can’t believe how tense watching someone sniff a glass of wine can be". Surely it's gotta be worth a watch??!!

I watched the first two episodes of this the other day, and thought it was pretty decent effort to make a program from a very ropy (though entertaining) premise. Interesting question - what do forumites think of Chateau La Lagune, a case of which appears in the best private cellar in the world?

I am quite fond of Chateau La Lagune. There was a guy called Mike from some wineclub in North London many years ago who was a fan and introduced it to me. I don't have any of my own, but it's the sort of thing I'd pick up if I saw it at a good price on a list somewhere.

I seem to recall that the final episode of this is Iplayer only.
Unless I dreamt it, the content was a bit close to being critical of the present UK efforts to keep things natural.
And kept off main channels.

Spring watch BBC
The cameras are on about 10 nests. Gruesome stuff, the predation by other animals is expected. But this series has witnessed siblings killing each other, a mother eating her own chick alive. As for the cuckoo chick pure evil.

Finally watched The Many Saints of Newark over the weekend. God I miss James Gandolfini and The Sopranos - what a character he created. Watching his son play him as a younger man was really eerie. I’m going to go back and rewatch all the series.

I've watched a few of these due to there being nothing else on in an that 8-9 slot, and agree. Gruesome is not an exaggeration.

We have just watched Best Interest on Iplayer.
Not an easy topic to deal with but brilliantly done and a very strong cast, headed by a real return to form from Michael Sheen.

Yes, it seemed a good take on the subject matter.
Did he lose form? I don't recall anything he hasn't been great in.
Sharon Horgon doing pure drama was great too.

A spy among friends ITV. Loved the delicious fictional scene with Blunt/Profumo and Anna Maxwell Martin in an art gallery. It makes great drama. Philby defects to Moscow and wants malmalade and the Times crossword The elites are still there ?
