Weekend drinking, September 27-29

Beaune Toussaints 2009, Albert Morot, as meltingly fragrant and autumnal as the last bottle was dull and ill-humoured. With Burgundy one must take the rough with the smooth; this is exactly what one hopes for.
Interesting as my last bottle was rubbish. Bretty as hell.

I “accidentally” aged some of the Burlotto versions by way of lost and then found… they definitely seemed better with five years on them in my opinion..

Nice either way.. crunchy young or a bit more smoothed out with five years.
Some Dolcetto certainly seems to improve with age. Marcarini's Boschi di Berri and Poderi Colla's Bricco del Drago (which has some Nebbiolo in it too) are examples that come to mind. Not surprised that Burlotto's falls into this category.
