Wine Courses are resuming at Winchester’s Hotel du Vin. Hosted by James Hocking Wine, the Wine Courses will kick off on Tuesday, 20th October with “California, The Golden State”, featuring six wines from the region’s leading estates.
The sessions – which will be limited to 15 people – will be Covid-19 compliant and will strictly adhere to all the latest government guidelines. Hotel du Vin has been accredited at Covid secure; wines will be pre-poured, social distancing rules will apply and guests will have their own plate of nibbles.
Hampshire-based, James Hocking is one of the U.K.’s most respected wine importers, who specialises in importing top Californian wine for the U.K.’s leading restaurants and retailers and is an approved W.S.E.T (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) educator. He launched his courses at the beginning of 2020, pre-Lockdown. Hocking has spent more than two decades in the wine industry, including stints as wine buyer for Rick Stein’s restaurants, and most recently was Wine Director at The Vineyard, the U.K.’s “Temple of Wine”. He set up James Hocking Wine in 2019 and supplies fine Californian wine to the trade and private customers.
Each session will cost £35 per person, to include the six wines, accompanying nibbles and associated materials.
Hotel du Vin Winchester will offer those booking a place on the course a 20% discount on dinner bookings for the same day.
