Grape Expectations – Tempranillo / Chenin Blanc

4th October 2019 @ 19:00 - 21:00

Tempranillo is Spains número uno grape. Easy to find on supermarket shelves this wildly diverse food-pairing wine that also happens to have great a great flavor profile for its value. If you’ve never had Tempranillo, or have only tried it in isolated circumstances we will quickly bring you up to speed and reveal a few tips about the often undiscovered varietal. With the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and meaty nature of Carignan, Tempranillo is well worth investigating. When young, it can be surprisingly fresh and fruity. with age and oak, you’ll find more of the dust, tobacco, and leather flavors serious wine fans crave.Yum!

It’s hard not to love Chenin Blanc. It is versatile in style and sweetness and has the ability to adapt to a wide variety of tastes. Dry, Sweet, Sparkling, fresh summer drinking, to complex oak age styles, there really is a Chenin Blanc wine for every occasion. At this tasting we will try a variety of styles to see which we all prefer. Could it be its most classic form in the Loire Valley full of floral and honeyed aromas or a South African Chenin with the distinct peardroppy, peachy flavours. You’ll have to book a place below to find out!

On the night we will taste 6 wines accompanied by full tasting notes and some cheese and ham to nibble on.

Perfect for those who love wine and want to know more. A great gift idea too!
