In homage to both of these great occasions and both of these famous grapes, Manchester Wine School is proud to present a special one-off Saturday tasting in Manchester City Centre, in the historic and beautiful surroundings of Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre.
We’ll kick the day off with a sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, and finish with a fortified Malbec. In between, there will be several examples of both grapes from several different countries, in different styles and at a range of prices. Both Sauvignon and Malbec hail from France, but have become famous for their performance in countries that are thousands of miles away – how do the “Old World” examples stack up against their “New World” counterparts?
Over the course of the day, we’ll taste 12 wines on the day (yes 6 of each!) with a break in the middle for lunch in the Royal Exchange’s highly regarded restaurant “The Rivals“. The Rivals opened in September 2017 and quality modern British cuisine, from Head Chef Anna Fysh has received outstanding reviews in the local and national press.
We expect there to be enthusiastic demand for this unique event so do book early.
