in us in Manchester for a wonderful night of wine fromAlsace and Corsica regions of France. On the night we will taste 8 wines, showcasing the best these two wonderful regions have to offer.
Alsace in eastern France lies on the border of Germany and is as German as it is French in terms of population, architecture and its’ grape varieties. Germanic Riesling and Gewurztraminer are found here side-by-side with French Pinot Blanc and Gris all adding to a small-but-complex wine producing region offering the most aromatic and different styles in comparison to the rest of France. It unusual, its unique, its great.
France’s Mediterranean island of Corsica is traditionally hitched to Provence’s wagon in wine books, and they share some vine varieties just as they once shared rulers. The Corsican varieties Nielluccio (identical to Italy’s Sangiovese) are increasingly appreciated and product wonderful rosé. Vermentino (Rolle) is regarded as the island’s own white grape and can produce dry, firm and sometimes aromatic whites.
We usually taste 6 wines at our evening events but on this night we will treat our guests to 8, and with some really high quality, big price tag wines in the mix too!
Tasting notes and some palate cleansing nibbles also included.
