Join us in Manchester for a wonderful night of wine from the renound Bordeaux region of France. On the night we will taste 8 wines, showcasing the best Bordeaux has to offer.
The quintessential drink of a British gentleman! Bordeaux has for centuries been a global by-word for premium quality wine. It brings to mind the villages of Margaux, St Julien and St Emilion and their robust, complex and multi-faceted reds which evolve over decades in the bottle. Our tasting seeks to unwrap the mysteries which shroud these wines: is it the climate which makes these wines so special? The wine making practices? Or, the grapes themselves? Or is it, as the French would simply say, down to terroir?
The classic wine region of Bordeaux is home to many black grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc but its not all about the reds. In addition we find white grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon producing wonderful refreshing dry whites such as Entre-deux-Mers and Pessac-Leognan with the added touch of the most lauded sweet wine in the world, Sauternes.
The tasting will unearth the difference between general Bordeaux wine and Grand Cru Classe with everything in between.
Left bank, right bank, wines to break the bank! This is a tasting not to be missed!
We usually taste 6 wines at our evening events but on this night we will treat our guests to 8, and with some really high quality, big price tag wines in the mix too!
Tasting notes and some palate cleansing nibbles also included.
