Join us in Manchester for a wonderful night of wines kissed by the warm Mediterranean sunshine . On the night we will taste 8 wines, showcasing the best of the Languedoc and Provence has to offer.
The Languedoc is increasingly known for great wines at a great price. Many wines are a blend of different grape varieties and vineyards are often called ‘patchwork’ because so many different grape varieties grow together. This was the first French region to be introduced to vine-growing and wine-making by the Romans, and has been home to a wealth of vineyards ever since. This is red wine country with bold reds from Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan. The region is also home to the seafood friendly white – Picpoul de Pinet.
On this evening we will travel east along to the Mediterranean to also taste some wines from beautiful Provence, here Rosé is the star. These light, pale, delicate wines are the perfect summer drink and a sharp contrast to many people pre conceptions of what a Rosé wines taste like. Also home to Bandol, known principally for its characterful, warmly spicy oaked reds made predominantly from Mourvèdre, the wines of Provence are sure to go down well at this one off tasting.
All tastings include; tasting 8 wines that are easily available, nibbles, full-tasting notes with a digital presentation
