Join us in Manchester for a wonderful night of wine from the sunny South West and Savoie region of France. On the night we will taste 8 wines, showcasing the best these stunning wine regions have to offer.
Wines from Savoie (thats “Sav-wah”) are a white wine lovers heaven! These unsual wines from the French Alps have for a long time been seen as simply ski chalet wines but, today the situation is changing. Thanks to the modernization of winemaking techniques and the enthusiasm of local vintners, the wines offer compelling flavor profiles and great aging potential. These are food-friendly, unusual wines for those of us who are bold enough to, occasionally, venture off-piste.
But what about the South West of France? If you like Bordeaux but not the prices, or love to discover new varietals that scream ‘terroir’, then the South West region of France is calling you. As we’ll see, many of the wines are very similar to Bordeaux in varietal, wine making style and quality. Add some unique grapes and ‘terroir’ into the mix and this is one exciting region for wine lovers.
We usually taste 6 wines at our evening events but on this night we will treat our guests to 8, and with some really high quality, big price tag wines in the mix too!
Tasting notes and some palate cleansing nibbles also included.
