(2020) Quite a solid fairly deep red. Perfume to spare, floral, red cherry and rose hip, a solidity of fruit just touched with clove and spice, but the flowing perfume. Intense, concentrated a touch of meaty reduction. Just a glorious wine, perfumed, fruit, silky structured and spicy. Price and stockist quoted at time of review are for a full case, but bottle equivalent price quoted.
(2020) From a vineyard that has been organically grown from day one, planted by Giesen in the Southern Valleys. Mostly wild ferment, with plunge downs, but otherwise hands-off winemakeing. A slightly resinous quality here, then the fruit becomes very sweet on the palate, sweet and spicy, and grippy in the finish. Tangy, a lot of nice juiciness to the finish. Price and stockist at time of review is for the previous vintage.
(2020) This spends 15 months in oak, 40% new, and the best barrels. A meaty aroma here, the colour just developing a touch of maturity on the rim, the fruit sweet and full, a lusciousness here for sure, lots of sweet, voluptuous fruit, lots of spice from the barrels. And long and firm in the fnish. Delicious.
(2020) Hugely deep crimson/black colour, and beautifully dense, balsamic and graphite characters, rich and sweet fruit, lovely suede-like tannins. A little currant character, but such a depth of blueberry giving wonderfully bittersweet intensity. No UK retail stockists at time of review.
