Lovely palate of very plush, juicy black fruit, bursting berry quality and freshness, just leading into a peppery spice quality with good balance. A big line, with 450,000 litres made.
(2008) 14% in a mix of new and used French oak. Some really solid black fruit, with that black cherry and kirsch quality, and little floral notes, but very solidly fruity and concentrated. (2004) The nose has layer upon layer of bursting berry and plum fruit, cinnamon, tobacco and chocolate. There's a great blue/black density of fruit that sweeps through onto the palate. Soft and yielding in the mouth, there is plenty of depth to the fruit, with a solid underpinning of sweet oaky tannins, spice and toast into the finish. Good length, with that velvet texture and mouthfilling, expansive quality staying focused as it floods through to the finish. Tesco. The "Q" Malbec is also an extremely good wine.
