Newlands Field (South Africa) First Release Colombard 1999
Asda have done a special deal on this batch of wine, the most interesting aspect of which is that it’s a 1999: yes, you can drink a bottle of the ’99 vintage whilst the vines in Europe have barely broken into flower! This is actually a delicately perfumed and flavoured crisp white with subtle tropical fruit and tangy acidity. It is refreshing and summery and slips down rather easily. I would drink it within 3 months to capture its fresh, zingy youthfullness. Asda 2.29
