Andrew Quady (California) Elysium 1997
Quady is a fortified dessert wine specialist making an unsusual and delicious range including this, from the Black Muscat grape. The handsomly packaged little half bottles hint at quality, and quality there is. The aromas are fresh and exotic, with floral, old rose nuances as well as a hint of tea, plum and chocolate. On the palate it is sweet and quite refined with no harsh elements and a fairly simple, but delicous set of ripe fruit flavours. Not at all heavy, the finish too is quite elegant, pure and long. This is a lovely wine and a rare style that works well with chocolate desserts. UK Stockists: Majestic 6.49
