Berberana (Spain) Rioja Tempranillo 1997
Unusually, this wine is 100% Tempranillo: normally Rioja is a blend with other varieties. It has a bright, fruity, cherry nose with some vanilla and a hint of dark chocolate. There are firm tannins on the palate, but also good berry fruit, spice and a toffee note. Savoury and juicy, this would be great with red meats or pasta. Majestic 4.99
