Three Valley Select (California) Muscat 1995
It’s always nice to be able to recommend something other than the ubiquitous Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. This Muscat is made from late harvested grapes and the winemaker has retained enough residual sugar for the wine to qualify as off-dry. The nose has fresh aromas of grapes and ripe melon with pretty floral nuances. On the palate there’s an intense burst of sweetness before broad, juicy, peachy fruit fills the palate and some lemon and lime acidity kicks in to leave the finish quite dry and savoury. Oddbins 3.49.
