17/02/2013 – Château de Sours, Bordeaux Rosé 2012

Chateau de Sours, Bordeaux Rose 2012, France
Chateau de Sours has become one of the best loved rose wines in the UK over the past couple of decades, though their decision to offer their wines ‘en primeur’ is a highly unusual one – normally reserved only for the elite red and a few white wines of Bordeax’s top terroirs. It has a lovely, clear red fruit quality on the nose, with enough herb and stony mineral character to immediately suggest a grown-up, savoury appeal. On the palate too, raspberry and redcurrant gives a tart, biting edge to the core of ripe fruit, and this finishes long with elegant balancing acidity. Note: orders must be placed by 1st March 2013. The wine will be available later in spring/summer from other retailers: see .
