Montana (NZ) Marlborough Reserve Chardonnay1996
This is an absolutely beautiful Chardonnay in my opinion: possibly the best sub-fifteen pound Chardonnay I’ve tasted. It has a fine, aromatic nose of limes and unctuous, buttery tropical fruit. There are limpid notes of pineapple and even coconut, and just a little enhancement from charry oak. On the palate it is poised and elegant, with a wonderful purity of fruit, great balance and a long, long finish. Victoria Wine/Thresher/Bottoms Up 7.99
