The gorgeous nose is crammed with juicy black cherries, nutmeg, tobacco and polished-wood aromas. These lead on to a palate brimming with succulent, crunchy black fruits – mouth-watering blackberries and sour cherries. But there’s also a definite grip from a bitter plum-skin edge to the fruit and some firm tannins. Acidity is moderate and the finish is long, powerful and spicy.
