Torres, Rioja Crianza Ibéricos 2006, Spain
The name Torres is synonymous with Catalunya, but this family-run company now spreads its wings much further with wineries across Spain and in Chile. This Rioja is a Crianza, meaning it spent just one year in oak. That oak does mark it strongly, with lots of vanilla and spice, but sumptuous and luxurious with lots of deep, mulberry and plum fruit. On the palate there is a certain freshness and brightness, the fruit bold and juicy with a creamy texture. Delicious stuff and there are food matches, more background information and detailed comments in the video. 8.99 – 10.99
